In 2012 AHS entered into a partnership with for-profit Communities for Veterans, LLC as a sponsor and co-developer of eight Veterans housing projects located throughout the country.
Our team was selected by the VA under their Building Utilization Review and Repurposing initiative to develop excess land and existing structures located on VA medical center campuses. These projects entail new construction and historic rehab to provide supportive, service-enriched housing to homeless and disabled Veterans. Low income housing tax credits are the primary funding source for the projects which require multiple layers of financing. AHS has participated as co-developer bringing non-profit financing options and development project management expertise to these complex deals.
